Freedom's Gate Equine Rescue was born as a result of the enormous amount of horses that are abused and/or sent to slaughter for human consumption every year.  Our founders have so much compassion for these animals that they couldn't stand by and let it continue without trying to help in any way possible. Thus, Freedom's Gate was founded: an equine rescue where horses can come to decompress, get the health care and rehabilitation they need, receive handling and training, and eventually get paired up with their forever family!

The rescue has grown to accommodate more horses, more volunteers, and more happy endings than we had ever thought possible!  We thank each and every volunteer who has helped haul, feed, foster, fence, and more, to get us to where we are today!
